Born and raised in the Tuscan hills just outside of Florence to an American artist mother and an Italian intellectual father. As a young girl she discovers her love for jewelry in the shops and stalls of Ponte Vecchio.
1978
Attends Instituto d'Arte in Florence studying sculpture and ceramics.
1982
Moves to Los Angeles and starts Rime, an alternative dance company exploring poetry and movement.
1986
Moves to New York and continues to explore sculpture within the text of craft and begins to work in 18K Gold on a scale that is intimate and close to the body leading to designing jewelry collections for prominent retailers.
1990
Identifies a void in the jewelry marketplace for fine jewelry designed to be worn daily in a casual manner.
1996
Further refines her creative techniques and personal aesthetic into a signature language of natural, organic shapes and sculpted form, always defined in 18K Gold.
1999
Bergdorf Goodman launches her first eponymous fine jewelry collection.
2004
Adds color to her vocabulary as she discovers the world of precious and semi-precious stones – and develops a distinct, unconventional approach which becomes a cornerstone of her brand aesthetic.
2007
Adds 925 silver to the collection resulting in expanded reach and a new audience for the brand.
2011
Inducted into the Council of Fashion Designers (CFDA)
2012
Opens her flagship store at 796 Madison Ave, New York City.
2013
Best Jewelry Designer, the Jewelers of America Gem Awards
Best International Jewelry Designer, Andrea Palladio International Jewelry Awards.
2018
Re-acquires full ownership of her brand adding CEO to her role of Designer and Founder.
2020
Celebrates 20 years of cultivating beauty and revisits the 20 iconic pieces that continues to be the touchstones of the brand.
Opens Chicago boutique at 900 North Michigan Avenue.
2023
Opens new Madison Flagship store at 721 Madison Ave, New York City.
